Quick Chipotle Salsa

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

This quick chipotle salsa is so easy to make and perfect for winter time when tomatoes are not in season and you can use canned tomatoes with the addition of chipotle peppers to give it that fire roasted-smoky flavor you thought you could only get during summer. Yumm!

Quick Chipotle Salsa

I will admit, I have not always been a fan of chipotle salsa. I first had good chipotle salsa while my husband and I were visiting his sister in Texas. Over time it has really grown on me…especially over grilled meat (steak!), in a good chili or on top of a stew. So delish!

I enjoy making this recipe during the winter months when you can’t get fresh tomatoes. What makes this recipe so different is the use of fire-roasted canned tomatoes, added with chipotle peppers give this salsa it’s deep smoky flavor. It’s so quick to make, and clean up is a breeze, you just need a food processor or blender.

I also like putting a touch of Worcestershire sauce in to continue the depth of flavor with the fire roasted tomatoes and the chipotle peppers. All these recipes use canned tomatoes when fresh tomatoes are not in season or you have unexpected friends or family stop by and want to make an easy appetizer for them to snack on.
