Guava-lime margarita recipe

Guava is a delicious fruit that is well known in both Mexico and Puerto Rico. It can be found fresh or in many candies, preserves and baked goods. The taste is almost like a cross between a strawberry and a pear. When I was in Puerto Rico, I had a pastry that had guava paste and cheese and it was SOOO good! On the Mexican side, guava rolls are popular. They are similar to the candied fruit roll ups we have here in the states but guava flavored, a little softer (paste like) and rolled in sugar. When I saw the juice being sold at Costco, I had to have it (Goya brand also has guava nectar that can be found in some local grocery stores)! This juice is very thick, common for a nectar and very sweet, perfect for matching it with the tartness of lime.

To make this drink all you need is lime, tequila silver, triple sec and the guava nectar. The great thing about this recipe is that you can control how sweet or tart the drink is by the amount of lime you add to the recipe. If you like sweet, just add half the lime juice.
