Blood Orange Paloma

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

Enjoy this Blood Orange Paloma recipe! It’s delicious and much smoother than the grapefruit version. Three ingredients is all it takes, tequila, lime juice and blood orange soda (or carbonated sparkling water).

Blood Orange Paloma

This is probably one of my favorite drinks. If I see it on a menu, I just have to have it (blood orange old fashioned is a close second). While I was growing up, we lived in Germany and there was a lot of Italian sodas to choose from and blood orange flavor was always my favorite (unless my dad came home with Sunkist from the military commissary, I mean I was 7). Now I love pretty much anything blood orange flavored and still love those Italian sodas (Cadia and San Pellegrino at the top of my favorites).

Now with this recipe I’ve decided to go with a sparkling water. I am headed to Mexico in a couple of months and need to fit into my bathing suit. Ha! Also, I am generally not a soda person except for every once in a while or if I’d like a little treat.

Paloma’s are simple to make and they really just require the three ingredients…tequila, lime and carbonated citrus water. Try one today!

Enjoy!

Description

Enjoy this Blood Orange Paloma recipe, it’s delicious and much smoother than the grapefruit version. Three ingredients is all it takes, tequila, lime juice and blood orange soda (or carbonated sparkling water).

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz of Tequila ( I used Reposado)
  • 6 oz of  Blood Orange Sparkling water (I used bai bubbles Jamaica blood orange)
  • 1 oz of Lime Juice

Instructions

  1. Grab a rocks glass (a.k.a old fashioned glass. a.k.a low ball glass).
  2. Add one extra large ice cube.
  3. Pour the tequila first (preferable on the ice cube).
  4. Then add the sparkling water and lime.
  5. Stir well and enjoy!

Notes

Bai products can be overly sweet, if you find your drink too sweet add more lime.

To make it a little fancier, add a sprig of rosemary to make it extra special.
