Pumpkin Menu Ideas

Pumpkin Menu

Hello Fall:

I’m ready for cozy blankets, pumpkin spice coffee and comfort food, YUM!

For this particular menu, and as much as I love all things pumpkin, I decided to offer only a few pumpkin items and then find recipes that would pair really well with pumpkin. For example, sage pairs extremely well with pumpkin and so does cinnamon. That is where I start my search and of course you have to have drinks, if you really want to add some extra drinks a apple cider sangria would also work here.

For the starter, I wanted something savory and smooth, and pumpkin hummus offers both of those things. Secret tip: sometimes, I add bacon….so good.

In the main dish, pasta seemed to be appropriate here (mostly because I had a pasta craving), also, mushrooms and sage pair really well with pumpkin, hellooo comfort food.

The dessert had to be the pumpkin cookies I make every year for the hubs, he wouldn’t have it any other way. They are like mini cakes but in the shape of a cookie and I’m pretty sure I can eat a whole batch by myself. These cookies can be overly sweet so I didn’t want to add an overly sweet cocktail (like the sangria) to the meal and that is why I went for the moscow mule, they are super refreshing without the all the sweetness.

Speaking of cocktail, Apple cider Moscow mule!!! Sooo good. Probably will be my main drink this fall and with the ginger beer, really offers a yummy libation.
