Anniversary menu ideas can be hard to come by but this particular one was super easy to put together. It is simply a compilation of all our favorites. Don’t you just love the calligraphy done on this menu! Luckily, I have a great friend who owns her own business and when she isn’t busy, will surprise me with her work. I just love it!
In this menu, as a starter, we went with liver pâté. I know it might sound gross to some people but we just love it! We had some really good liver pâté when we were in Denmark from a good quality butcher and were hooked. We don’t eat it often, but when we have the chance to find really good pâté in the states we go for it. Spread lightly on a baguette, even better, mmmmm, getting hungry just thinking about it. For those of you who have never had it, I would say it’s got a grainy texture sort of like a really good mustard. It’s a bit salty like bacon, which is why I like a good crusty bread with it. Also, I choose to believe that it is extremely good for me. 🙂 Liver is supposed to be good for you, right?
The main dish of a clam bake (or lobster bake in our case) has been a favorite of ours since we celebrated our first wedding anniversary. It’s delicious and we always have left overs for days or sometimes we choose to invite the family over to enjoy with us! Check out our Stove top Lobster Bake Recipe.
At last, when we simply cannot eat another bite, we enjoy a slice of blueberry pie. 🙂 Fun fact, we love all things blueberry!!! Blueberry scones, blueberry crisp, blueberry juice, blueberry jam…yummmmm, you get the idea.
I had so much fun sharing with all of you our anniversary rituals. It’s a day we carve out time for each other with no phones, no TV, just us. This year we were able to enjoy this time outside listening to music, drinking wine and enjoying our favorite foods all afternoon and late into the evening. I am excited to see how we will celebrate our anniversary for years to come. 🙂
