Smoked Salmon Dip

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

One of my favorite smoked salmon dip recipes. It is quick to make and has crunch, creaminess, saltiness, everything you look for in a dip.

Smoked Salmon Dip

I first fell in love with salmon dip when I used to work as a banker in Chesterton Indiana. Every spring and summer there would be a European Market in the next door parking lot. So I would walk around it during my lunch hour and found a guy who said he had the best in town. Already loving smoked salmon, I decided to give it a go. I purchased a baguette from the nearby bakery stand and purchased the dip. It was so good! I would occasionally go back and look for the dip but I was never able to find it again. So over the years I’ve tried to make my own at home that tasted most like the one I had years before, and I finally perfected it.

The trick is to not blend the capers or the salmon. I choose to leave everything finely chopped. It makes for a chunkier dip but it is so good that way. The recipe is so simple as well, just cream cheese, mayo, lime, smoked salmon, parsley and red onion. I take the cream cheese, lime and mayo and mix them using a mixer until it look nice and creamy. Then I simply fold in the rest of the ingredients.

My favorite chips to use are sliced cucumbers, toasted baguettes or baguette chips. Super good.
