Are you wanting to up your margarita game? Try this Cadillac Margarita recipe. This recipe uses the best ingredients for a smoother, sweeter and refreshing drink.

Cadillac Margarita Recipe

First things first, you must have a good quality tequila that you like. A reposado type tequila is preferable. To produce a reposado, tequila is aged in an oak barrel for up to a year. This brings out more of the agave flavor along with some caramelized flavors to make the tequila slightly sweeter. For this recipe, I used Reposado Herradura tequila. I like it for it’s cinnamon and vanilla notes.

This tequila is special to me because it’s the tequila that my husband and I enjoyed when we were on our honeymoon. Since our honeymoon, we have enjoyed many other reposado’s, but for this recipe, this is what we tend to use. The main ingredient that makes this margarita is the Grand Marnier.  This French made liqueur made with a Cognac brandy blend gives the Cadillac margarita it’s orange flavor.  To finish off the ingredients for this classic cocktail, you will need a juice from a half of a fresh lime and a half ounce of agave nectar.

This is such a great drink for fall, it’s slightly sweeter than a regular margarita and full of flavor.  Enjoy!
